Most shipments are door to door, which means the driver gets as close to your address as the truck can legally and safely reach. Full size auto carriers are long and heavy, so narrow streets in Manhattan and Brooklyn, tight Queens side streets, and apartment blocks without truck clearance often rule out a curbside pickup. In those cases the driver arranges a nearby meeting point, often near a bridge approach, tunnel plaza, or a wide boulevard in an outer borough. Transit time depends on distance, the route, the season, and how quickly a carrier with open deck space is assigned. June and July lease end dates and end of month relocation dates can tighten windows.
